Welcome, Alexander! ;-)

If you've been following us for a while you probably remember my beautiful sister Liana. If you haven't got slightest clue what am I on about, check out this post! Well, I am very happy to be able to announce that last Friday 1st of July 2011 at 9.09 am, there has been an addition to our family and as you have probably figured out by the title of this post, his name is Alexander!

Alex is cute and adorable beyond words and I can't find words that would describe how proud and happy my entire family is to finally meet this little miracle we have all been waiting for last 9 months! I just stare at him for hours because he is absolutely perfect and can't stop thinking about all the adventures we are going to get up to together as he grows older.

It's been less than a week since Alex's birthday and he's already got a portfolio of images any aspiring model would be proud of. :-) Here are some of the pictures I took of him.

Love Karienne

PS: As always, enjoy and drop us a line in the comments area. :-)

The pictures above and below were taken the day after Alex was born. His mum threatened never to speak to me again if I publish any of her photos, so I am posting one with me for now. At least until I manage to use my persuasion skills to get Liana in front of the lens. :-)

And here are a few from yesterday's session with Alex and his proud daddy.

Ewa & Andrew get married!

They say it is lucky to have rain on your wedding day, so having a little rain and plenty of warm sunshine must be even more lucky. Ewa and Andrew are the most relaxed couple ever, we didn't see any sign of pre-wedding nerves (although they both said afterwards they were nervous) It was such a pleasure to be part of their wedding day, both family and friends made us feel really welcome and even posed for some slightly insane photos that we promised not to put on our Facebook page LOL. Ewa you looked beautiful and we are so jealous of how youthful you look, what's your secret? Andrew you were the perfect attentive groom, we especially loved your heartfelt speech. We wish you all the best of luck and happiness for the future :)

I have decided to make a collage of some of the images, not sure why, I just fancied a change today! We have more on our Facebook page, so pop over and say hello :)

Ewa & Andrew, raindrops and romance...

Today was the pre-wedding shoot with Ewa and Andrew. A gorgeous couple who are getting married in a couple of weeks. As you all know the great British weather makes its own decisions which today was dreary drizzle, despite this Ewa and Andrew were happy to pose for their pictures underneath the prettiest vintage umbrella which we found stowed away behind a door, thank goodness as we hadn't brought one. ;-)

Andrew quite literally seduced Ewa with sweets. They couldn't remember what sweets but they must have been good!!! :-D After a chance meeting in a pub later on, Ewa invited Andrew to have a drink with her and the rest is history...

It's clear to see that they are a couple very much in love, relaxed and comfortable around each other even in front of the camera.

Emma & Kevin, some straw and a cheeky dog!

Today we had the pleasure of photographing Emma and Kevin for their pre wedding shoot. They are getting married this Saturday in the same church Emma's mum and dad got married in 34 years ago! We are hoping to replicate one their exact wedding photos for Emma and Kevin, under the archway leading in to the church, it is a beautiful venue and obviously holds many memories and sentiments for the family.

Today's shoot was great fun, we had two beautiful cheeky dogs who were determined to be on in the action, don't worry we gave them some camera time too! Maybe the sun didn't shine but hey, two people in love, some beautiful scenery and barn full of straw what more do you need?
Looking forward to photographing the wedding on Saturday. Here are some of our favourite pictures from today :)

New edits

As photographers we are always keeping up to date with what is new and what our clients want in terms of the finished look of their products. We have been trying out some new edits recently inspired by photographers whose work we love. Some of the edits are not to everyone's taste as it's a kind of art we create which can be so subjective, but we like to try new things to see how they look :)
These photos were taken on a recently commissioned family portrait shoot in force 10 winds (slight over exaggeration lol!) Anyway we found a beautiful field of Rapeseed Oil which had just come into bloom. The girls in the picture have a lovely relationship together and posed like pro's, and I have to say were very patient when I had to continuously remove hair out of their faces, damn wind! Girls, your bottom dancing to get your mum to smile was a great idea, not sure if my clients would find it quite so funny if I tried that method, but I'll bare it in mind on my next shoot (sorry couldn't resist)
Anyway, who ever said photography was glamorous obviously didn't try balancing on a wire fence to take photos, I ripped my favourite jeans when the wind decided to push me off, oh well it just means shopping for some more :)

Our First Publication

We were chuffed recently when Mandy from Daisy Mae Designs said she would be using our pictures alongside an article she would be writing for Vintage Life magazine. Having our work published is a big opportunity for Karienne and myself as we are a new business and we are always looking for ways to reach a bigger audience to showcase our work, and get our name 'out their' within the photography market. So, thank you so much Mandy for choosing us, we feel privileged and proud to be a part of your special achievement and recognition and we look forward to the next articles featuring your gorgeous handmade collection.

New sample albums

We've used the weddings from last years for our latest sample album. We've decided to go for a mixture of white and black pages in our favourite on textured paper and we love it!  We've used the black leatherette for the cover and it looks great!  What do you think? :-)
