Laura & Mark are no strangers to our cameras because Elizabeth and I, were the two lucky ladies to photograph their Big Day; it snowed that day and it was  absolutely breathtaking! To see their engagement shoot and their 'white' wedding day click here!

As they happily ever after goes, Laura & Mark had little girl called Anwen (I hope I spelled it right, pardon me if I am wrong :-) and she is gorgeous.  Less of the talking now, have a look for yourself... :-)

Getting over my baby-phobia… :-)

When Elizabeth and I, first started our photography business I wouldn't even pick a baby up. That was over four years ago now, it's funny how much times change… My baby phobia has become a memory when my nephew Alex was born and although I still don't get broody thinking -I really want one too (unlike my 'baby-snatcher' business half Liz), I think babies are adorable and over these last few years I've developed love for working with families and capturing their memories. Photographs, I am sharing with you today were taken at my recent visit back home in Slovakia. Kristina, beautiful mami of these gorgeous little human beings is one of my  oldest friends, and I think she's been posing for me when I first took photography up since we were 15. Yet, again, how much have we changed? I remember us strolling around the park, me in my hippie outfits(or goth? - losing track of which phase of my life I was going through.)and Kristina with her slightly boyish sporty look. And look at us now! :-) We've both grown into women, each of us following her own little journey through this life. I've been there at her wedding, when her first baby girl was born and now I went back to welcome her little son into this world. Looking back it feels unreal… Kristina you have got such a beautiful family and I am so proud of you, of what a wonderful mum you are!

Anyway, back to my baby-phobia… :-) I've always found it hard to work with kids, because it's not like they would listen, is it? So I found a little trick how to get around their excitement of being photographed and me completely being out of my comfort zone because noone listens to me haha… :-) hashtag controlfreak 

So here's my little tip for those photographers who suffer from children-phobia too. Make sure you have plenty of time to do the shoot. Spend first half an hour just chatting to the parents, have coffee, eat some cake, play with the kids, let them show you their toys and get to comfortable with you… have your camera by your side the whole time, so it doesn't spark their curiosity too much when you start shooting… and then when everyone is comfortable with the situation, off you go, you can shoot them now. :-) 

This might not work for everyone, but I found it works for me. I understand it's harder when you're getting paid for certain amount of time, and sometimes you just need to get things done but certain things in life can't be rushed…

I hope this little blog helps anyone, and if one person gets back to me saying they've tried this little technique and it worked I will be over the moon.

Twinklet Fun - Faye & Phoebe Newborn Shoot

Beware more cuteness.....This pair of adorable twins were the most well behaved little models, not a squeak out of either of them. We moved them from position to position, with a little cuddle (or six) in between....can you see a pattern forming here, Ok so I love babies, well who couldn't resist these two?

They look quite big in the photo's but let me tell you they are tiny, perfect for hiding in camera bags :)

Mummy Kim, thank you, you are very trusting. You have the most beautiful twins, enjoy them :)

Tiny feet and tiny toes, watch how this story grows....

This is one love story I have had the pleasure to watch unfold and grow, and at each opportunity I have been there waving a camera in their faces, ready to capture each moment (sorry guys) ...lol

The latest shoot was to photograph Mark and Hollie's 11 day old beautiful baby girl Lily-Rose. I so enjoy photographing newborns, well actually if truth be told I love the cuddles a little more, and that is what makes my job so enjoyable *huge smile*. As my babies are growing fast, it gives me chance to have my fill of that baby smell and remember what it was like to hold something so precious in my arms....broody me?...No, well maybe a little bit!

We love, love, love our job as photographers and are always grateful to the people that allow us in to their lives to capture the happiest and the most important moments they share together.

So, this is Mark and Hollies story so far. Welcome to the world Lily-Rose. I am looking forward to capturing the next chapter.....

Welcome, Alexander! ;-)

If you've been following us for a while you probably remember my beautiful sister Liana. If you haven't got slightest clue what am I on about, check out this post! Well, I am very happy to be able to announce that last Friday 1st of July 2011 at 9.09 am, there has been an addition to our family and as you have probably figured out by the title of this post, his name is Alexander!

Alex is cute and adorable beyond words and I can't find words that would describe how proud and happy my entire family is to finally meet this little miracle we have all been waiting for last 9 months! I just stare at him for hours because he is absolutely perfect and can't stop thinking about all the adventures we are going to get up to together as he grows older.

It's been less than a week since Alex's birthday and he's already got a portfolio of images any aspiring model would be proud of. :-) Here are some of the pictures I took of him.

Newborn session

Hi friends! Long time, no post!We have been both busy in last couple of weeks - Liz getting everything ready for upcoming wedding season and me visiting my family and friends in Slovakia, so we didn't get chance to share anything for a while! :)

Although it may look like I have been on relaxing holidays. People are meant to come back refreshed  and full of energy :) which definitely isn't my case. Don't get me wrong I love spending time back home, but it's madness to cram 6 months of socialising in 2 weeks! :)

Anyway,... I was able to do two photo sessions during my trip. One of them is this newborn session. I got amazing opportunity to photograph my friend's baby boy. I was very excited, brought a lot of props with me and had all these great ideas of what I'd like to do. However, things don't always work out the way you plan, do they? :) What I didn't know before was that this cute little person doesn't sleep! :) Ever! :) So most of these pictures were shot during his 2 minutes sleeping sessions!

Baby Love

Today's shoot was lovely. Having the most well behaved, laid back and gorgeous 11 week old baby to photograph was a joy. This is a new style of photography we are trying at the moment, capturing babies as art, we love the eclectic mix of textures and props to enhance the image and of course the utter cuteness of the subjects! At the moment we are on the look out for suitable props for our baby shoots, old suitcases, wooden boxes, big bobbly woolly hats, in fact we are off to another car boot sale on Sunday to see what treasures we can find :) 

We know the importance of baby photo's that evoke memories and emotion, so photographing these tender years for our clients is a privilege, baby years are over so quickly so these images are an important reminder of those cherished years.

It's not so much about waiting for the expression in babies, as their faces are full of innocence and baby beauty, with there perfect dewy soft skin and big curious eyes. Every photo captures a look which the parents remember, the odd side smile, the windy grimace or those knowing eyes.  

Today we took photographs of the baby both asleep and awake, he happily relished in the attention and the furry blanket and the odd sniff from the kitten, before letting us know ,in that baby way, that enough is enough, a sneaky cuddle as he fell asleep and we are in photography heaven :)

We always say that the best thing any photographer can do is to know how to shoot in any situation, something we believe enhances our images as we take our time and don't rush. Here are some of our favourite from the day, more to come soon.........
