Rachael - On location 'Be beautiful' photo shoot...

Hi there! :-)
Last week we shot with Rachael, beautiful, smart 19- years old (yes 19!!! :-D) photography student from Stoke On Trent. I've discovered this amazing location a few weeks ago and was dying to be able to take one of our clients there. When Rachael got in touch with us for a shoot, I knew straight away that her sophisticated, elegant style would be perfect for the sort of images I've had in mind. Soon we both discovered that we both have the same passion for vintage and fashion photography, so working together was a great experience.

Below are just a few photographs from the shoot, hope you all like! :-)

Please don't hesitate and get in touch with us for your 'Be beautiful' shoot! :-) Summer days are over but hopefully autumn will bring plenty of sunny and colourful days!

On location 'Be Beautiful' Photo shoots... for those who are not afraid to be different!

Evening everyone!

It's Monday evening and for me is one of those days when I am glued to my screen, editing photographs and designing wedding albums! :-)

I have done a number of location shoots over the last couple of days and looking at the results, I am really wondering why is it that most of the people prefer to have their photographs taken in the studio, posing in front of a plain background rather than try to be a bit more adventures and go for an on location photo shoot!?

As a professional photographer who has worked in the industry for a few years, climbed a lot of fences (... and high trees!! Btw, I am petrified of heights!), ripped a few pairs of her favourite jeans, got soaked in the rain, been stung countless times by nettles, vicious ants and even bees... I have to say that I still prefer working on locations more than in a studio. I am not saying that studio photo shoots are not fun but photographs taken on a location are usually more exciting, unique and unusual!

I think that people looking at our work, maybe just like 'you' out there reading these lines right now... often mistakenly believe that people in our 'Be beautiful' portfolio are all professional models with years of experience and hundreds of shoots under their belt. Well, I can certainly assure you that they are not! Our clients and people who we have photographed and you can see in the pictures on our website, blog or Facebook page are ordinary people just like 'you'!

I guess what I am trying to say is that 'you' should give it a go!  Get in touch with us and let us show you that everyone is beautiful in their own individual and special way! Working with a professional photographer who can give you advise on how to pose your body and work angles of your face to highlight your natural beauty is an unforgettable experience, as we are often told by our clients and can incredibly boost your self-confidence. I personally believe that working on a location which can be anything from your favourite park, beach, forest or even a random fence or wall somewhere on a street, or even your bath :-) can really bring your personality out by capturing something that is personal to you!

Have I persuaded you yet?!? Well if words failed maybe following collection of images will help you to make a decision. :-) Introducing you our competition winner Marie!

PS: And just to make things easy you can CLICK HERE to book your photo shoot and as a reward for reading this mahoosive blog till the end we offer you 25% discount on our 'Be Beautiful' package, use promo code: BLOG25KE. :-))

Our Graduation Day 15th July 2011

In our job, we are very lucky to share the most special moments of people's lives, so today  I've decided to post a sneak peek of our Graduation Day and for a change invite you, our dearest friends, to this very special occasion for us! Did we mention we both got Distinctions? :)

The ceremony took place in the Italian Gardens in Trentham which surely you'll agree with me, is an absolutely magical place. The whole experience was quite surreal with all the people 'dressed up as Harry Potter' walking around. People always say that I live in my own fantasy world, which I guess isn't far from the truth, so I was in my element. :-)

I am not going lie to you... last three years have been... tough, to say the least! ;-) Studying for our degree, while launching our business and trying to remain healthy work/life balance was a challenge! Therefore I have to say that today I am really proud for both of us! This degree has challenged our patience, perseverance, knowledge and skills, but after all the lady moments, sunny days spent sat by the computer screen writing essays and all the horrible presentations we were forced to do, here we are at the end of one chapter of our lives, eager to start writing a new one! :-)

There's a lot of things I thank this degree for but the main one is meeting Liz. We met during the studies and we are leaving as great friends who decided to take on this great business adventure together... ! :-) Yesterday was great day and we were really happy that we could spend this day with our closest families! Here are a few snapshots from the day! :-) I really wish I took picture of that gorgeous carrot cake we had! You know we both have a bit of a sweet tooth!

I'd like to end this post with a short quote from a popular song 'Feeling good' as it was quoted through the opening speeches of the ceremony quite a few times and there is something about that song that definitely sticks and describes how we feel right now...

'It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me...

And I'm feeling good...'

Love Karienne

PS: The whole day has been great apart from someone hat landing with the sharp edge right on my head when we threw our hats in the air! Ouch that hurt! I mean the whole act looks innocent but I can tell you now that it can go horribly wrong! :-) And as for my progress with getting used to the heels, I think I am finally mastering the whole catwalk technique but by the end of the day I was defeated... or shall I say de-feet-ed! :-)

Ivan Rowley-Bond [Christening]

This is the first christening we have done and I have to say it was amazing, as with all of our weddings I was made to feel really welcome and one of the crowd (even by the camera shy folk :) and thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone have fun, drink wine (beer in some cases) and enjoy the delicious food that Kayleigh and Chris' family had so lovingly prepared, the pork was to die for, and the ham and the cheescake, I think you get the jist!!! Ivan is so gorgeous, happy, and smiley and took the day all in his stride (apart from a small power nap after lunch to regain his energy!)
Some of you may know that Karienne and I love all things vintage, so imagine my joy when I got to the venue and it was filled with vases of wild flowers, homemade vintage candle holders and the most beautiful baby blue bunting. I especially liked the little touches that had been put out, hale bales as seats, although the kids thought they were for jumping off LOL. Little blue and white tea cups with cream roses inside for table decorations, I was quite literally in vintage heaven. So, what a beautiful day it was to have a Christening, we had a little bit of rain but it certainly didn't hamper peoples fun or the atmosphere of the day, it soon cleared and everyone enjoyed the sunshine and beautiful surroundings again. Happy Christening day Ivan.....
Here are some of the photos from the day, you can click on them for a larger view :)
